Seth is celebrating his
11 year anniversary with Taziki’s
on December 31st!
Q: What position did you begin with at Taziki’s?
A: I began my career with Taziki's in the Marketing Department where I was in charge of all marketing for many years. In fact, at the time, I was also doing marketing for other restaurant brands within the parent company’s portfolio. Then Taziki's started growing to the point where it was taking up most of my time. Taziki’s then began exploring franchising and I helped our founder, Keith, come up with franchising plans. We kind of invented our franchising system from nothing. We then restructured and I became the VP of Marketing and began building a Marketing Department. Also during that time, my wife and I started a family and I decided I needed a change. So, in 2017 I approached Keith and our CEO, Dan, about making a shift into data reporting which would be more flexible for my family life. I am now happily the Data Analytics Manager at Taziki’s.
Q: What has motivated you to gain tenure here at Taziki’s?
A: For many years it was discovering and inventing new ideas and processes - and figuring it all out with the team. I enjoy solving problems. Working with the group and coming up with solutions has brought a lot of joy and satisfaction over the years. When I look at my current position, the original goal of taking a couple of years to help us get the right technology in place has gone much further. The challenges in data reporting continue to present problem solving opportunities and keep the work interesting. I also appreciate the flexibility I have with my schedule. I do not take it lightly that I have the ability to put my family first and still have a fulfilling career.
Q: What is your best memory about working here?
A: I can't think of any specific moments but there have been a few things over the years that I enjoyed. One of the top moments would be starting the franchise growth with Keith. I enjoyed spending that time with him and helping the brand get to that next important step. I also enjoyed the collegiate marketing competition, one of the most enjoyable and truly satisfying events because we got to work with dozens of college kids. It was a lot of fun!
Q: What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
A: I love to be in nature and explore with my children - or design and build something. I am currently building a bunny hutch, planning a playhouse for my children and a greenhouse and garden. My parents are close to finishing building a house for which I created the floor plans.
Q: What is something about you that not a lot of people know?
A: I had a home building business at some point. I still tinker with it sometimes for friends and family who are remodeling, but not much anymore.
Q: How has the Taziki’s culture inspired your work over the last 20 years?
A: I am biased a little bit because I have had a hand in creating the company’s mission and culture compass. My biggest inspiration is that Taziki’s feels like an extension of family. It really does. I think a lot of people on our team feel that way, too.
