January Anniversaries

Here at Taziki’s we love to talk about how much our staff loves what they do. We have some pretty amazing employees with even more amazing stories. January brought many work anniversaries, but there are four we want to highlight.

These four employees have been with Taziki’s for 10+ years!

Joaquin Reyes

On January 5th Joaquin celebrated his 24th anniversary with Taziki’s.

Joaquin started with Taziki’s in Birmingham and moved when we began opening locations in Nashville. He now works at the Nashville West End kitchen making your favorite made-from-scratch items. Joaquin also enjoys teaching others how to create our delicious food. He has stayed with Taziki’s because he loves the food and the people.

Joaquin says that the Taziki’s mission and culture inspire him to do his best daily and helps him guide others in the Taziki’s way.

In his free time, Joaquin enjoys relaxing at home and watching Alabama football and baseball.

We appreciate Joaquin’s dedication over the last 24 years!

Erika Antonio Manzano

January 19th, marked Erika’s 11th anniversary with Taziki’s.

Erika currently works at our UAB-Medical Center location in Birmingham crafting our yummy menu items! She absolutely loves working in our kitchen with wonderful coworkers - the reason she has stayed at Taziki’s for so long. Over the last 11 years, Erika has made some tried and true friends and had some really great experiences. In fact, she has so many good memories that she cannot choose one favorite.

Erika says that the Taziki’s mission and culture inspire her to work hard everyday because she knows her work has purpose.

In her free time, Erika loves to spend time with her family. She is originally from the small town of Oaxaca in Mexico.

We cannot say thank you enough to Erika for 11 years with Taziki’s!

Red Williams

January 22nd marked Red’s 15th year with Taziki’s.

Red began her career with Taziki’s as an Assistant General Manager at our Mountain Brook location in Birmingham. Soon after she was promoted to General Manager, then on to Area Supervisor in Atlanta. Now, Red works in Accounting for our Corporate Office in Birmingham.

Red has stayed with Taziki’s because of the family atmosphere she has enjoyed since day one. She appreciates the work our founder, Keith Richards, has done from the beginning to make sure that we care for each other like family.

Her best memory of working at Taziki’s is when she was promoted to General Manager. She felt such a sense of accomplishment and commitment to the team by accepting the promotion. It was such a great feeling and is now a core memory.

Red says the Taziki’s mission and culture have taught her that creating connections with everyone you meet is really what it is all about. Moving into accounting has shown her how everyone really does work together. She sees how imperative the connections we create are and how they make the company thrive. She truly enjoys the daily interactions she has with everyone.

Outside of work, Red enjoys traveling. Her favorite trip so far has been to Iceland in October of 2022. She also enjoys working out daily. One fun fact about Red is that she is a 2x Hall of Famer! She was inducted into the Gulf South Conference for her collegiate softball career last year and will be inducted into the University of Alabama Huntsville Hall of fame this year. Congratulations, Red!

We appreciate all of Red’s contributions over the past 15 years and are so thankful she is on our Team!

Yesenia Rivas Montoya

To round out the month, January 26th marked the 12th year at Taziki’s for Yesenia.

Yesenia works at our Liberty Park location in Birmingham. She enjoys using her skills to craft our menu items daily. She stays with Taziki’s because of the healthy work environment and delicious food. She just loves Taziki’s!

One of Yesenia’s most memorable moments is when she was recognized in 2022 for National Food Service Workers Day as being someone who has embodied our culture compass.

Yesenia says the Taziki’s mission and culture inspire her everyday because they give her the opportunity to contribute to the hardworking and respectful work environment. She says the culture at Taziki’s has allowed her to make lifelong friends and inspires her to give 100% every day.

Outside of work, Yesenia loves spending time with her son. They enjoy going to the park, watching movies, and doing homework together. She also loves doing seamstress work and collecting handicrafts.

We are so thankful for the last 12 years that Yesenia has dedicated to the Taziki’s mission!

To all those with January anniversaries,

we appreciate your dedication and hard work.

We are so glad you have chosen to be a part of Team Tazikis!
