Staff Spotlight: Amy Parman

Meet our Director of Training, Amy Parman. Amy has been apart of the Taziki’s family for one year and during her time she has made quite the impact! Amy leads her team on creating strategies for staff development and recruiting, career pathing, and internal communications.

1. What drew you to your current role?

Amy Parman

Rachel Layton, our VP of Marketing & Growth, has been one of my closest friends and colleagues in the hospitality industry for years, and we've spent many hours discussing our love of this field and the people in it - and dreaming about how we'd add our own lasting, meaningful impact. When this position opened up, she reached out, knowing it was the perfect time and place for us to put those dreams to work. The Taziki's family is truly special - I'm grateful to work with a team that truly cares about providing opportunities for others to find purposeful work and develop their futures, all while connecting with our guests and their communities through the universal love language - food! Great hospitality is one of the most powerful and ubiquitous ways we take care of each other in the world, and I love being a part of living out that idea.

3. What's your go-to Taziki's order

I have a few favorites. When I'm looking for something lighter without flavor compromise, I opt for our Tomato-Basil Sandwich. Insider tip - try dipping it our Tomato-Basil soup as well!

4. What is one characteristic that you look for in new employees?

I'm afraid I'll have to go with two! It really comes down to emotional intelligence and curiosity, which both encapsulate so many other great characteristics. An emotionally intelligent person brings a thoughtful, collaborative attitude to their workplace, which will help them navigate nearly any change or issue that comes their way. Curiosity is that special sauce of optimism, engagement, and drive - the idea that each new day is worth meeting head-on because there is always more to learn, experience, and contribute.

 5. What is your favorite way to #livethegoodlife outside of work?

Most of the time you'll find me with my nose in a book or my hands in the dirt. Studies show that we're happiest when we lose track of time during an activity - the term they've coined for it is flow - and gardening absolutely does that for me. I'm also curious about nearly everything, so I have a habit of acquiring more books than I could ever keep up with reading.

Thank you for all of the amazing work you do for Taziki’s, Amy. Now if you want to try Amy’s current favorite menu item, order yours here
